The studio will be closing due to not being able to recover from covid setbacks sadly .

So all the furniture and props are for sale in the studio , first come first serve .

Items are to be paid in full when requesting them and will be released once the studio has closed .

As of now we have until July 31st ,2024 for the lease . However we are actively looking for a new tenant in the space . And items will be released once either happens first

Photos with SANTA , no lines !!!! ----> Sunday NOV 5 only

Hello families !!

Our very own Santa that you have visited before , will be coming to the studio on November 5th . 9-6 pm

The fee will be $60 + gst and include a digital photo that will be chosen by you, in your online photo gallery when the images are ready as usual . And you will have the opportunity to order any extra images taken as usual as well .
If this is something that would interest you this year , please let me know asap by emailing to smiley.tam@telus.net with your preferred time , we will place you as close to this as we can, and then send payment to secure of $60 plus gst = $63 to : info@thephotographerstudio.ca to reserve a spot .. ( use this latter email only for payment )

As far as your appointments go, you will arrive to the studio 10 mins prior to your session time and wait in your vehicle until you receive a text to come in. You will be escorted by an elf to a waiting area , and when it is time to see Santa, escorted into the main studio where you will be with myself and Santa only.

Headshot Roundtable Experience for Photographers

It’s time to get creative, collaborative, and conceptual! Photographers, coming up with creative ideas for headshots can be more fun than you think, especially with other photographers of all ages and experience levels coming to try their hand at more creative headshots. Is it time to update your own headshots as well? This is the best opportunity you’ll encounter to sift through dozens of different looks to find the best fit for you - not to mention learning from the techniques, gear, and interactions of photographers around you.

About the Experience

The Headshot Roundtable Experience includes:

  • A unique creative networking opportunity: Take advantage of The Photographer Studio creative community and the wider community of Edmonton and area photographers joining us for this unique, collaborative event. We invite you to ditch the mentality that your photos are 100% yours and come play in the sandbox with your peers.

  • Spaces: With over half a dozen different tableaus and backdrops available including white and grey seamless paper, red satin, lifestyle chairs and couches, and other options, everyone will have ample opportunity to get in touch with their creativity and collaborate with other photographers. Suggestions and workshopping of ideas are welcome here.

  • Lighting: You can create headshots using several different sets of provided video lights, or your own lighting setup, including strobes. Please note that if you bring your own lighting, you may be asked to keep to the rooms with enclosed space in order to ensure that other creators are able to work.

  • Models: Multiple people with zero modeling experience will be present to act as our muses and “clients” - each need headshots for a variety of industries. Photographers can also choose to update personal headshots by serving as both photographer and model.

  • Photographers of all education and experience levels - including you - are there to help and give feedback.

SOCIAL DISTANCE SANTA PHOTOS :

Hello families !!

I am sending this note because we are doing Social Distance Santa again this year for Santa's visit .

As you know , we are living in different times but we really wanted your families to still enjoy a visit with Santa again . If things change, we can revert back to the traditional style photos .

So.... we have come up with a solution that will be safe and still enjoyable for all .

Our very own Santa that you have visited before , will be coming to the studio on November 28th . 9-5 pm

He will be sitting in his Santa setting at the very back of the studio .

The children will be able to talk to him from a special social distanced bench or furry rug and then have photos in front of Santa , so that he is still in the photo with them . We will masterfully make sure that your child and Santa are together in the picture , just safely distanced .

As far as your appointments go, you will arrive to the studio 10 mins prior to your session time and wait in your vehicle until you receive a text to come in. You will be escorted by an elf to a sanitized waiting area , and when it is time to see Santa, escorted into the main studio where you will be with myself and Santa only. Please wear masks until it is time for the photo ( if they are still mandated at the time ) and then you can remove them for the photos . If you have really small children, you may sit them on your laps in front of Santa for the photo . At least this time, they may not scream and cry lol . Last year the children were very comfortable with this new setting .

Choose from either day:
Oct 4 or 5 th ( same workshop each day) - please specify date when booking

What to expect:

You will arrive at your pre-arranged time slot for a full makeup application to glam you up :)

You will then participate in a one on one portfolio building photo shoot being guided on how to pose , coaching you along the way. 
I will teach you how to work the camera using flow posing and how to sell any product as if you were doing a magazine or product shoot . ( see below for full details )


* You will learn also how to make money at modelling rather than being known as a TFP model . Who doesn't want to make money ?


In the end , you will have great knowlege going forward with your career and a photoshoot with photos you can use in your portfolio for go-sees, modelling jobs, interviews with agencies and much more .


Posing 101 will include :

- FLOW POSING ( demonstrated by Kayley Deren Model )

- Legs: Poses for making legs longer, slimmer and making legs look more interesting.

- Hips: The art of moving your hips to make the pose look better.

- Arms: Posing with arms. All the things you should and shouldn't do with your arms.

- Hands: What to do with your hands and tips to make your hands look better in pictures.

- Chins and Necks: Where to position your chin in relation to your neck.

- Shoulders: How to work and move your shoulders .

- Posture: How to work your posture to give interesting images

- Hair: How to use your hair to make the images more interesting

- Expressions: How many different expressions gives the photographer more to work with

- Movement: How to move your body to show off and sell any product .

Photoshoot:
Your photoshoot will yield the top 5 best shots from your session for your portfolio

When booking, please specify time and date preferred and is based on availabilty

What can I bring into the event?

Please have your hair clean and styled in a straightened style ( bring pony tail holder )

What's the refund policy?

No refunds

Is my registration fee or ticket transferrable?

Yes and please let us know if you do transfer to another person. If you can't make it , it can go towards another photoshoot but this event is a huge discount and you will have to pay extra fees for a private session ( Reg. $250.00 for shoot , extra time for workshop $150 plus makeup artist $75 )

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?

Yes but please let us know ahead of time so we know

Come dressed in either black or white or both :)

Couples Boudoir Workshop

Having difficulty posing or communicating to your boudoir couples ? Not sure how to work with a couple ? Then look no further than my Better Boudoir Bootcamp's - Couples Boudoir.

Photographing a boudoir couple can be intimidating and vulnerable for both the photographer and client. This hands on course will begin with Tammy demonstrating how she works with her clients while teaching lighting, posing and communication by using an experienced couple with a live shoot . It will then be followed by the “hands on” portion of the workshop where Tammy provides guidance to the attendees as they photograph real life clients themselves.

This 6 hour course will include the following itinerary:

Morning

I will provide you with an experienced couple to work with and go over the following :

Styling - Learn how to communicate with your clients on styling for their bodies. How to work with the hair/makeup artist to create a look for your client(s) .

Working with the female & male client - 
- How to use various poses for every body type to bring out their very best

- How to use available light to flatter them the best ( we will have two sets to demonstrate this )

Following along during a live shoot , you will watch as I communicate with the couple to create simple sexy poses to more intimate styles without removing their clothing . 

You will have a chance to practice what you have learned with our models, time permitting.

Lunch Break

Lunch / refreshments are provided , if you have allergies please advise when booking or bring your own bagged lunch

Afternoon

I will provide you with a real life couple of mine to work with and photograph with all you have learned in the first half of the course.

Working with the real life couples -

- How to make them feel at ease during this seemingly uncomfortable time .

- Using natural light, I will demonstrate and pose the clients on how to flatter them the best and bring out their chemistry . You will then take turns utilizing this knowledge to pose and photograph them .

We will also go over basic marketing and pricing to be successful in your business .

Question and answer throughout the course .

Skill level requirements : Must know basic camera functions. Beginner or intermediate photography.

What to bring : Camera,lenses , battery and memory card. Notebook and pen .
